Our aim is not to be part of the problem but to be part of the solution. We want to help not only raise awareness but also help you to help us do our bit for the environment.

Small changes make a big difference!

The global fashion industry generates an extensive amount of greenhouse gases due to the energy used during its production, manufacturing, and transportation of the million garments purchased each year. 'Fast Fashion’ and ever changing trends has meant that attitudes towards clothing have changed - clothing has become disposable and the resulting environmental damage is increasing as the industry grows.

So What Is The Dresser Doing About It?

Step 1:

Sustainable Fashion - Do It In Style!

We have always been advocates of getting the most from your wardrobe by showing you how to continually enjoy the benefits of your new clothes no matter what the event or the season!

To us, being fashionable is about being both smart and responsible with your clothing choices. Long gone are the days of one time purchases, instead we encourage numerous different ways to wear/style your garments. If you can dress it up or down or style it through the seasons, it’s a winner in our eyes!

This has always been and will continue to be our ethos when it comes to fashion.

Step 2:

Small Changes, Big Impact - Doing Our Bit For The Environment

Only the best for our customers and the environment!

Carrier Bags/Mailer Bags - We have responsibly sourced the packaging you get your items in and we are proud to say that both our in store carrier bags and online mailing bags are 100% recyclable.

Tissue Paper- We pack all our orders with acid-free tissue paper which is more easily recycled and a more environmentally friendly option!

Energy Saving Light Bulbs - We ensure that we use energy saving lightbulbs - both inside and outside our store! They're an energy efficient option, helping to reduce the carbon footprint of our store.

Reduce Paper Usage - We always aim to reduce our paper usage by making the use of the technology we have in store. We prefer to email receipts to customers at checkout rather than printing to reduce unnecessary paper usage and hope you will join us in this effort!

Recycle Ink Cartridges - We return our ink cartridges to our supplier who raise funds for the charity Children With Cancer UK by recycling empty ink cartridges, which reduces waste and helps such a worthwhile cause at the same time.

Charity Donations - At the end of each season we take any defective items that could not be sold but are still suitable to wear and donate them to local charities to avoid waste and help the local community.

Recycling In Store - All staff make a conscious effort when disposing of waste and ensure correct recycling procedures adhered to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills and incinerators. We reuse our boxes and recycle any unneeded.

Step 3

Saving The Trees One Order At A Time - Introducing Offset!

This year we will be utilising ‘Offset’. Offset allows us to neutralise our shipping emissions that contribute to climate change. When you place an order with us, you will be supporting an environmentally-friendly business that invests in sustainability initiatives to counteract the environmental impact of shipping.

Step 4

The Dresser Pre-loved

Each year we fill our wardrobe with lovely new garments, wear them a few times and then they never see the light of day again. Whether its due to the garment no longer fitting, having worn it so much that you’re bored of it or maybe it was a one time purchase that you no longer need, our wardrobes tend to be full of garments that we once loved but no longer need.

Introducing The Dresser Pre-loved! The scheme is designed with the environment in mind and is where customers can give their old Dresser garments a new lease of life by giving someone else the opportunity to love them again! That’s not all, with each donation you will receive a little treat to say thank you for being environmentally conscious!

How Does It Work:

- Customers can donate their old Dresser clothes to our ‘pre-loved’ scheme in exchange for a reward. Simply contact us in store or by email with details of your item and we will confirm if we can accept it as part of our pre-loved collection

- The quality and condition of all clothing is verified in-house. Each item will be reviewed, washed and steamed.

- Pre-loved items will be made available for customers to buy in store at reduced cost so someone else can love it as much as you did!

- Each customer who donates item(s) will receive an exclusive 10% discount code which can be used in store or online.

Contact us to give your preloved clothes some new love!

Step 5

Responsibility From Our Brands

Some of our brands have already started looking into ways to minimise their environmental impact by using more sustainable materials in the production of their clothing to reduce the environmental impact, and we are 100% behind them!

We strive to work with brands who are opting for more natural fibres and implementing more sustainable methods of production, and hope this environmentally-conscious approach to fashion will soon be the norm for  all brands in the very near future.
